Who we are
Our Mission

We create pathways for young people into decent jobs, promote access to quality education, and build a culture of good governance and civic responsibility.

Our Approach

We combine capacity building, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and community service. Every program is designed to address real barriers faced by young people while empowering them to shape solutions.

Our Vision

We are working toward a Ghana where every young person, regardless of background, has equal access to opportunity and the tools to drive change in their communities.

Our Projects

Youth Farm Project (YFP)

We remove barriers that keep young people out of farming. The main barriers we address are lack of finance (37% of youth surveyed), lack of land (14%), and lack of technical training (12%). YFP links training, inputs, finance access, and market pathways. The project aligns with SDGs 1, 2, 8, and 13.

Meet-the-Mayor Youth Conference

We bring youth and local leaders together. Delegates discuss governance, security, sexual health, entrepreneurship, and climate change. We compile a Youth Manifesto and present it to the Mayor of Tamale. The second edition targets 100 delegates aged 18 to 35.

Youth in Peace & Security (YPS)

MYD led a Townhall and the #YouthForPeace campaign in October 2024 ahead of the general elections. We worked with partners including Emerging Public Leaders of Ghana and the Empowerment Centre for Peacebuilding. The campaign reached an estimated over 1 million people via social and traditional media. YPS trains youth to act as local peace ambassadors.

MYD Volunteers Program

We recruit and train volunteers in Tamale. Volunteers join regular engagement sessions. They support events, advocacy, and community outreach.
