About MYD

We believe the collective energy of young people is Ghana's greatest untapped resource. The Movement for Youth Development was born to channel that energy.

Who We Are

Ghana's Youth Are Not a Problem to Be Solved —
They're the Solution.

The Movement for Youth Development (MYD) was founded in July 2019 by a group of young changemakers dedicated to channeling the collective energy of Ghana's youth into self-development and impactful community service.

We operate as a non-profit organization — dba Betterway Group — focused on three critical mandates: Capacity Development, Governance & Advocacy, and Community Resilience.

Since our inception, we have reached over 35,000 young people, created a network of 150+ volunteers, and built programs designed to impact millions across Northern Ghana and the nation.

Legal Identity

Registered & Accountable

MYD operates as a non-profit organization registered in Ghana under the name Betterway Group (dba — doing business as — Movement for Youth Development). We are headquartered at the Old State Construction Building, Tamale, Northern Region, Ghana.

01
Capacity Development
We invest in the skills, knowledge, and practical competencies of young Ghanaians — through agricultural training, digital literacy, financial education, and leadership development — to ensure they are equipped to participate in and drive economic growth.
02
Governance & Advocacy
We create structured platforms for youth to engage authentically with local and national decision-makers. From our Meet-the-Mayor conference to formal Youth Manifesto petitions, we ensure young voices translate into policy action.
03
Community Resilience
We train youth to become agents of peace and community stability. Through the YPS program, we build social cohesion, support conflict prevention, and position young people as active architects of community security.
